What customers say?

“ I was really impressed with this place. I ordered the stewed chicken with fried plantains and rice for my sides. This reminded me of a creamed chicken dish my grandmother used to make. The saltiness of the chicken worked well with the sweetness of the plantain and the rice was good too. I would like this dish more in the $14.99 range rather than $19.99 but the guy said they do lunch specials where the prices are batter. The food itself was excellent though. ”

“ Customer service was great, very friendly and welcoming! The coconut soup was so rich with flavor. The stew and goat was delicious! I also purchased hibiscus tea, and ginger tea both were bold in flavor. I highly recommend and I definitely plan to come back again. ”

“ This is probably my 100th time coming here with my wife and the food NEVER disappoints. From the samosa, to the chai tea with oat milk (my wife is lactose intolerant) to the efo riro, to the fish, the food is top notch. A 10/10 EVERYTIME. Food is always fresh (made to order and doesn't take too long). Environment is very friendly and clean. The owners are very friendly they've actually become family. They're very accommodating, parking is also very available. Overall I highly recommend coming here. You won't regret it. The pictures should tell you everything you need to know. Tell them Providence sent you. ”

“ First time eating Nigerian or Kenyan Food. I will be back for sure. Food was fresh and alive with flavor. The owner/son was a great host and proud of his food. The restaurant was also clean and well kept. I suggest the meat pies and karanga mbuzi ”

“ So I went to Foodateria Kitchen again this evening. They specialize in upscale Kenyan & Nigerian cuisine. Also, they do have 8+ vegan / vegetarian options as well. Ya’ll the place is straight The service and food is absolutely exceptional. It’s a must try. It’s where WyCliff’s Kitchen use to be in the northeast side of Columbus. ”

“ My wife and I came here on a Friday night and had a wonderful meal and experience. We had the suya and jollof meals as well as a samosa. We got to try a side of the cabbage and well which was super good. Everything was so good and well prepared. We also got the chai and hibiscus tea which both were awesome. Very nice people and great service, it was are first time and we will definitely be back. ”

“ It was the perfect choice for two of my Ugandandan "grandsons" birthday dinner! The samosas were THE BEST I have EVER eaten! The goat stew was superb. Two of the guys ordered the fresh tilapia that looked scrumptious and was beautifully plated! The Hibuscus tea was fresh - and refreshing and Gideon said it is also "heart healthy!" I look forward to a return trip! ”

“ THIS IS MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT OF ALL TIME! Foodateria Kitchen is one of, if not the best restaurant in all of Ohio. I always get either the Egusi soup or Jollof Rice which both pack tons of flavor. The staff makes you feel like family and the customer service is on point. Stuff can get pricey if you get appetizers, a main dish, and a special drink, but you will most likely have plenty of leftovers as the portion sizes are big. My only other complaint is that this restaurant isn’t open 24/7, because if it was, I would eat here everyday! ”
